Revannexation
After the victory of Maidan, Ukranian ex-president Yanukovich escaped to Russia, and Russian troops invaded Crimea.
On the 16th of May, with the support of armed people with no insignia (locally known as 'polite people') and cossacks, a referendum was held. Although, the referendum and it's results were not recognised by most world governments, Crimea joined Russia.
It was the first case of the annexation of the territory in the 21st century. (Crimea, Ukraine, 2014)
